The design of this garden was done in collaboration with the Italian Garden Designer Niccolo’ Grassi who was engaged for this project: a new property in Tuscany that the client bought as an escape from a frantic city life.

The property, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills near the small village of Cetona, was characterized by dramatic level changes which allowed a series of terraces that are a highlight of this garden. Following the proportion of the house, an informal layout took shape with mainly paved surfaces that cater for outdoor entertaining. The areas next to the house and the guest house were massively planted with low Mediterranean vegetation like Santolina, Lavender, Roses allowing views into the garden. The generous lawn area at the entrance of the property, planted with olive trees,  gives accent to the house. This elegant simplicity echoes the quiet serenity of the surrounding landscape.

A staircase, flanked by Mediterranean vegetation, connects the different levels and leads to the elevated pool area overlooking the beautiful and peaceful view of the Tuscan hills.
